A Fraction of Fall Forecasting

I'll try to keep this short and sweet! In all honesty, I could break this entire forecast into bits and pieces and talk about each factor that goes into what the designers have come up with for accessorizing this fall. IN.LOVE.

The color palette is excitedly interesting for the season...taste already acquired! While there are some expected appearances of Rust, Bordeaux, Eggplant and Mustard, there are also surprises of Emerald Green, Turquoise, Lilac, Cerulean and yes, even Orchid. It's to be expected for spring and summer, but continuing the tactic of adding that "pop of color" is a definite focus by the designers showcasing strong creativity for the fall.

Mixing and matching seems to be a trend as well. Blending exotic skins, suede, smooth nappa and chunky hardware...it's all there! From browsing, I gather some Santa Fe inspiration among the textiles used with an early nineties design aesthetic. It all sounds like a cluster, BUT comes together beautifully.

A classic silhouette drawn upon for shoes is the Venetian. With this, comes a dominance of the pointed toed pump. There's also multi use of furs, metals, studs and zippers as embellishment...a favorite edgy touch of mine :) Finally, if you thought animal prints were just a staple...there even more of a stand-out this time around!

One of my favorite little treasure I came across while researching was this gem of a Kate Spade necklace. It's a wonderful take on the Peter Pan collar (or bib).
I'll have to look into men's accessories a bit more, as you can see I only added a couple on here. Alright, I'm attaching more pictures to wrap this up...ENJOY!

March Birch Box

Most Birch Box reviews I read or watch tend to seem disappointed that they received a few items not suited for their use. While I semi-agree that I don't absolutely L.O.V.E. each item to death, it's really all in the fun of trying something new with each item. Also, I may not like something right then because it's not "my norm," but giving it a second try, I usually find a common ground. Hey! For a monthly fee of $10, my box arrives each month and a little rush of "It's Christmas!" runs through my body like a small child. It's the greatest way to treat myself to some luxe beauty products I would have never thought (in my right-bargaining mind) to purchase otherwise. So, here's what I got....

Description card of what I received AND how much it costs to purchase a full sized version of each, if interested. I was also very pleased with the size of all the samples. Probably received about $40-$50 worth of product for the $10 I paid.
Below are my items!

Out of the 6, I would purchase 4 at full size! My favorite item, aside from the deliciously bright poppy-colored polish (Color Club's "Jackie Oh!") I'm glued to One Love Organics Skin Savior Waterless Beauty Balm. Dry skin and cuticles haunt me like any other woman and I just couldn't find the right serum to suit me...until this little loverly! It has a dainty lemony aroma, that I love...I think this spawns from my strange liking of that lemon pledge smell (people at work, you may attest with no judgement please). It is semi-greasy, so maybe only apply in the evening at home or before going to sleep.

The I Coloniali Deep Massage Body Cream with Myrrh is quite interesting because it goes on unexpectedly feeling like an exfoliant, but the buffer beads in the cream diminish quickly and moisturize your skin happily!

I'm praising Miss Jessie's Original Quick Curls! As a woman with a natural "Curly Sue Do," I'm always happy to try any anti-frizz miracle out on the market. It's a lotion texture, which is different from most I have tried (usually gel or oil based). I also feel like it gives my hair that little extra "oomph" it sometimes lacks in volume. Wonderful smell too! I relate it to PEZ candies (I'm so weird, I know)...you will see I judge a lot of products on smell.

The last two items, I Coloniali's Shower Cream with Rhubarb and WEI's buffing beads were not on my A-List. While the Rhubarb in the shower cream smells nice, it is so strong it almost works better as a masculine scent. I passed it off to my husband, so none to waste! I was super excited to try the WEI buffing beads because they are actual full-sized product and I like the concept of "just add water" to the packet and you've got a face cleanser! However, it was like rubbing sand paper onto my face. I enjoyed the naturalness of the product, but it's too harsh for my somewhat sensitive skin. If you're an oily skin type and travel often...these are great to throw in your bag and handy as ever!

Like I said, it's $10 a month, you receive a box monthly with 4-6 sample sized (sometimes full sized) items. It's always a SURPRISE (my favorite part) and I feel like it's completely worth it! I've already hooked a few of my friends :)
